Located on the bank of the Garonne river, the Place de la Bourse is possibly the most beautiful of Bourdeaux's 'incontournables', and a remarkable example of how this city has worked for many years in an effort to restore its original brightness and strength. Today, this magnificent square, surrounded by three neoclassical buildings -generating a perfectly symmetrical place- which once acted as the Bourdeaux Stock Exchange headquarters -Bourse de Bordeaux, which gives the name to this wondrous spot- is also famous for having the largest water mirror in the world, a design inspired by St Mark's Square in Venice when is flooded, to remark the importance of the Garonne river, which crosses Bordeaux from north to south. An absolutely inspiring place.
As always, feel free to leave any comments or thoughts. Hope you have a nice week.
